Amber G. ruined my wedding day. She not only took so much time but made me late to my wedding ceremony. The updo she did I did not care for. Since I was already running late, I did not say anything. Then she moved on to make-up and it was obvious she did not know how to apply it. I also requested for natural makeup and she kept packing on foundation and concelear. Her "countour" was a line of bronzer accross my cheeks and she does not know how to blend eyeshadows. When she applied false lashes, she did not curl my own lashes which are very straight and seemed to not know what she was doing. She packed on too... much product that after my uncomfortable (due to makeup) wedding ceremony , my husband had to bring me home to remove the cakey foundation she had applied and to blend and add eyeshadow to my eyes. I literally removed wipes full of makeup. My face felt so relived after removing that mask of makeup. I clearly told her I wanted a natural looking makeup not layers and layers of it. I kept it all in but went nuts when I asked her to apply some of the highlighter I had taken with me. She added it like it was canceler, which made my face super shiny and so not the right way to do it. Not to mention she ruined my brand new beck highlighter with her dirty fingers. Her only way of fixing it was by applying more conceler, which only kept making everything worse. The owner never came over to apologize and I was super late to my big day and late to my venue because I had to come home only to fix it all. I definitely do not recommend Amber Michelle Salon nor do I recommend Amber G. She should not be doing makeup because clearly she is not an expert. I was off schedule for everything because she took 3 to 4 hours just to do hair I did not care for and cakey makeup that I had to fix after my wedding ceremony. Please save yourself some time and money by NOT going to this place. I have no idea how they won some award from the county. Their family members must have voted for them so they could win.
Both my teenagers have extremely thick hair and I struggled finding someone that could give them a good haircut for years. Jessica has been cutting and thinning out their hair for a least four years now and always does a wonderful job. We don't go to anyone else. Recently she also added highlights to my daughter's hair that my daughter is very happy with.
Jessica is AMAZING-- she always ensures she understands what you want, and has a vision for what will look the best on you. She's patient, friendly and very detail-oriented...she will do all she can to make sure you leave the salon happy and looking awesome. I've never been complimented on my hair --- but since Jessica has been coloring and styling it - I've been asked many times who does my hair...because it looks great!
I have short hair and went in for a trim with Amber G. Unfortunately, this cut was very uneven and not blended well.once done. It was also shorter on one side than the other. I have a simple haircut, basically layered but this cut caused me to go to a friend in McKinney for serious repair. I'm a licensed stylist myself specializing in precision cuts but due to a shoulder surgery, thought I'd try going to someone close to home. Perhaps it was a bad day for us both but I would not recommend Amber G. for cuts.
Great place in a great location. My wife and I both go there and love it!
