My problem is 2 degenerated and a herniated disc. My days were miserable due to constant pain in my back. Dr, Vu is an excellent Doctor and he did an excellent job explaining the issues I had and what he was going to do about it. When I had the first appointment I had to wait for an hour. They apologized and admitted they made a mistake in the order of handling patients. The injection helped for 2 weeks it was wonderful to live without back pain for a while. Bit of a shocker was that my insurance was charged with $10,000 for something I believe was never done. Also the MRI was out of network so I have to pay for that myself (only myself to blame). Since the pain came back I decided to go for the second injection. I took a day off and didn't eat or drink for 10 hours. On my way to the clinic I got a phone call informing me that the appointment was cancelled due to a power outage. Bit of disappointment and disbelieve from my side. A clinic that doesn't have a no-break system weird but on the other hand I'm not a specialist in this area. I have now decided just to live with the pain and take some painkillers when the pain is out of control . Continuing story almost 2 months after the procedure my insurance got charged with $6000 for anesthesia. Out of network so not covered so waiting what I have to pay myself. I still cannot understand that the actual procedure is only $750 but all the surrounding stuff is about $20k, crazy......
The information is always handled inaccurately. Vu's explanation is that he and Brown are too busy to call patients back. If you want to talk directly to them about anything you must make an appointment. When you are talking about pain issues that shows a total lack of caring. I just had an issue with a newly prescribed medication.
I'm not exaggerating when I say Dr. Vu saved my quality of life. He is very knowledgeable & patient focused. Dr. Vu worked with me trying a variety of conservative treatments until we found what worked for me vs. other docs that just wanted to hand me pills & send me on my way because more focused on appointment volume instead of investing time figuring out what works for each individual patient. Trust his advice & expert procedure talent, follow the rules & you will have the perfect place for chronic pain care. And, he has a FABULOUS front office staff which is so important. I just moved out of state & am lost without Dr. Vu as my doctor. Very few like him these days.
I was told neither Vu or Brown was available and that they wouldn't talk to me anyway. At that point I raised my voice to them because I was in pain, frustrated and shocked that they are so uncaring. Consequently they said I could no longer be a patient after I already told them I would find another Dr. If you are willing to tolerate people like that then I hope the best for you.
Dr. Vu and his staff are wonderful. I am very hard of hearing, and I don't always understand, especially technology or medical terms. But the staff is so helpful that I can do fine and Dr. Vu explains things so that I understand. A wonderful place.
Dr. Vu provided good medical care for me. However he is arrogant about the way he runs his office. Consequently his staff is difficult to work with because they follow his lead. It is the policy in his office for Dr Vu to not speak to patients on the phone. The same is true of Ms. Brown who sees patients and writes prescriptions. They require you to leave a message with an assistant who then relays your reason for calling to Vu or Brown. Then they relay the response back to you through a 3rd party incompetent in the office.
This doctor seems to be a good physician, it's a shame that his off staff is lazy and rude. You can leave voicemail after voicemail for these people and they never return your call. It's not until you call and try to make a new appointment, that anyone will help you. On top of that, they charge you $25 to get copies of your medical records. I've already found a new provider that has a competent office staff.
